The services sector may serve as an important source of economic growth for the Caribbean, but only if the region moves beyond tourism to take advantage of emerging opportunities in other service areas.

Jamaica is one of the most indebted countries in the world. This paper explores the reasons for the indebtedness and analyses the impact of three policy initiatives on the future evolution of debt to provide fiscal policy guidelines.

Tens of thousands of Jamaicans are likely to have invested in informal investment schemes (IIS). The extent to which Jamaicans are likely to invest in IIS and the impact of these schemes on the economy is the focus of investigation in this study.

This paper examines Jamaica’s foreign policy since 1962 identifying past challenges in, and future opportunities for, harnessing the economic growth potential of these policies.
