Desiree Phillips is an Economist and Research Officer at CAPRI. Her research interests span both Renewable Energy and Energy Management, and she is passionate about how these areas contribute to economic policy development. Desiree previously assisted with the economic policy development in Tobago as a Macroeconomic Research Analyst in the Division of Finance and Enterprise Development. Her research includes an investigation of anti-corruption innovations, and the management of plastic waste in Jamaica.

She is currently a member of Environment Tobago, and a Graduate member of UK Energy Institute. In 2015 she was the recipient of City University’s Green Impact Award for the best energy awareness campaign, and she also received the Silver Award for sustainability leadership.  Desiree holds a MSc in Energy Environmental Technology and Economics from City University London, UK and a BSc in Economics 2:1 from The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, Barbados.
